More time on the fly
You are planning your annual day on the Tweed. You have three rods booked and will be taking two old friends with you, as usual. Last year, you left Gloucestershire just after lunch to allow 8 hours for the drive to Kelso, where you all spent the night in a hotel.
After the fishing, you spent another night in the hotel before making the long drive home, leaving in the early hours to arrive back in time for lunch. It was a great day’s fishing, but the drive was exhausting and you could have done without the two nights away, let alone the wasted travel time.
